Next gigs are Port Patrick Village Hall and the Spring and Airbrake, Belfast, on the 22nd and 23rd February respectively. Happy New Year to you all for 2006.
The December gigs went better than we could imagine.
We are in talks with potential agents for this years touring plans. We hope to be playing Germany, Belgium, Holland, France, Italy, Spain, Scandinavia and America. Don't worry Britain is in there too, with two tours being planned as I write, in both halves of the year. Need to get my dancing trousers out.

derek,
oh man, when will we know about AFGM getting to the states. you have got to play theme for great cities. that bass line/song litterally stopped me in traffic the first time i caught it on college radio back in the day. since then i regard you as one of the most vital bass player/writers out there! just for the record...what is keeping the sons and fascination-sister feeling call or new gold dream simple minds apart??? i bet your sick to death of that question, but i have to know. the greatest bands. the vital bands were always about chemistry. what really went. that period for the minds was awesome wrong?

I agree Piotr,
that was definitely the best time for writing. I think Chemistry is vital for a band to stay on top, just look at U2. These are things you learn in hind sight. It's great for me now, working with Mick in AFGM, because that chemistry is still there.
all the best
Derek

derek,
thanks so much for the reply. it's great to see you and mick playing/writing again. talk about a perfect compliment for each others style! can't wait to hear some new material. listening to "sons" and "sister" you really hear the interplay between you and mick. its like a sonic landscape. those songs seem to evolve everytime you listen to them. "this earth you walk upon" comes to mind. the mark of great music. what effects were you using at the time? as on sweat in bullet and live on the seen the lights/new gold dream tour? you get this really cool wet sound yet musical and focused. don't mean to go on about tech stuff, but i am a writer/producer and have a studio. i love hearing studio stories. for that matter any cool memories of recording sessions? good or bad?
cheers,
piotr
