born relatively young,Scottish,keen footballer as a child,joined first band at age 9, named them the 'Tiny Troggs'.Played for Liverpool boys club in the Gorbals, Glasgow.Learned guitar at15,played in various bands. Made first record with the 'Subhumans (Subs) in London. Joined Simple Minds (Scotland).Joined Propaganda (Germany),joined Oblivion Dust (Japan). joined Spear of Destiny (England), formed newest band A Few Good Men, now Fourgoodmen. (U.K.).

it was outstanding, bought a bunch of shirts and cd's..i drank a bit toomuch but had a good time.
the boys were great, bruce was a gas.. people were calling out dereks name though out the whole thing. 4GM looked like they were having a good time. a very powerful band.
i don't know if they were shouting for the bass player or the knees. LOL
or the footballers shins.

Derek, you god you lol. I started playing bass because of you. Well, kinda. I was at the Simple Minds (was a big fan) concert in the Edinburgh Playhouse circa promised you a miracle. I was in the front row and you kept standing on my hands, so you gave me your plectrum to make up for it lol. I also met you a couple of times up at castlecliff as I used to hang out (pester) there. Hope youre doing well mate, you are a star.
