I adore your sound! I listen unceasingly Simple Minds (especially New Gold Dream album) just to hear you playing bass.
Then I try to reproduce songs. I said I try ;-).
I saw Newcastle show of 82 on DVD and you are incredible, how do you make to have such a sound? Which strings are you using for example. I stopped with my questions. In any case thank you Mr. Forbes because you gave me desire for playing bass guitar too.

4GM european tour spring 2007, kicking off in Holland, bring your tulips and the band will sign them. If you don't have any tulips, Kelly, the merchandising lady, will be selling some in the foyer for a small price. You must sign a waiver stating you will not sell the signed tulips on Ebay.

Hello all you rstwhile party goers. Unfortunately, I can't go to Cairo with my lovely wife tomorrow, as I have cellulitis of the foot, which means I run te risk of having a deathly bout of DVT if I attempt the plane journey. The doctor grounded me this morning, so Wendy will be celebrating her birthday with our friends in Egypt and not me....bummer. At the moment. I can't walk nor drive, so Hans and I will rehearse as soon as we can, or once the penicillin kicks in. How many people do we expect to be at the do? I believe it is a bacterial infection below the skin, its not contageous, but you do have to be careful, and keep your leg elevated..

Derek - found your blog after listening to Kirsty MacColl's "New England" today for the first time in years. I remember thinking years ago "must find out who plays bass on that" and now, with the power of technology, I finally did. Work of art mate!
